Spring/Summer NEWSLETTER |
Hi everyone
Well summer is here and we have now been open for a year and what a year it has been.
With the silly-season coming up we now have back by popular demand our sparkling white, great to mix with the liqueurs and we also now have a sparkling shiraz. Both now $12 per bottle for a limited time, so why not pop in and stock up for Christmas. We still have our liqueur deal all five flavors’ for $85, and our ever popular Tawny Port is now available in a 750ml for $20. The 2008 South coast Classic (Chambourcin) is on special for $12 to make way for our 2009 vintage, all good for Christmas presents.
The Sauvignon Blanc is here; Grapes grown in the southern highlands by monks and brought back here to Mountain Ridge Wines and produced on the property, slightly sweeter than most Sauvignon Blancs but is already showing to be very popular. The 2009 Verdelho bottled last week in now available to purchase for $24 at bottle slightly heavier Verdelho than last years.
For those who don’t already know we are now brewing our own beer. We have two brews, the Broughton Ale which is pale ale and the Bolong Black which is a chocolate porter. Both beers are unfiltered and have no added sugar and no preservatives. They are in 330ml and 650ml bottles. The beers are available for tastings on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays. 330ml are $5 each, 6 for $20 and 12 for $35 and the 630ml $8 each 6 for $38. We now have a “drink on premises” Licence which means you can pop in and have a glass of wine or a cold beer on the veranda while taking in the view.
With the warmer weather now here we will be kicking off our entertainment again starting on the 21st November we will be having Richard Lawson performing some old favorites. This will be a family friendly afternoon/evening starting at 4pm and local wood fired pizzas will be available to order for dinner, orders will need to be place by 5.30.
On the 6th December we will start our Sunday Jazz afternoon featuring Les Crosby on trumpet, flugel horn and vocals, Dave Smith on Guitar and Jimmy Mitchell on bass. If successful both these afternoons will be held every month. For more details check out our web site or give us a call.
We have planted our summer veggie crops and will soon have fresh vegetables again. We have also planted two rows of lavender in amongst the veggie patch and the plan is that you will be able to come along and pick your own bunch. With the longer daylight hours our chooks are laying well and we now have farm fresh eggs available daily, be quick cause they sell fast. Also we now have our own farm fresh beef frozen in packs available to purchase, if you are interested, make sure to let us know as supply is limited.
Our baby twin goats that were born on the 31st July 2009 are growing very fast and with the help of our customers they now have names Lucy and Sally, we now have a small herb garden from which you can pick herbs and feed them.
Once again we would like to thank you all for your support and positive feedback, keep it coming we love to hear you thoughts and suggestions!
Hope to see you soon!
Regards,
Barry and Monique
